Now that everyone is back from the new year, the leadership team that is Ben & Lee would like to welcome our fantastic community to 2020.
This year, we want to make MidsTest bigger and better, but we can’t do it without you.
When we hold workshops we get tremendous attendance, as we hope it is because you get to be involved, rather than simply listen to a presentation. As such, we want to have more workshops over the year.
But to do that, we need more submissions from your, our members.
We hold one session a month, except for August and December due to them being popular holiday times, when folks are busy. And our sessions are generally 30-45 minutes long, plus opening and closing from the MidsTest leadership team.
With that, it means we have 10 sessions for MidsTest over the year, but we currently only have submissions for January, March and April. Do you have something you want to do with us in one of the available months?
One idea we have is having a session to be on presentation and workshop design. Do you have an idea for a presentation or a workshop you want to do, but want help practising your public speaking, designing your slides, balancing the details, or anything else? Then let MidsTest be the safe space where you can do it, and then trial it with other attendees.
Do you have an idea, but it is a short talk? We can pair you up with someone else in the same situation, and have it where you split your time, giving the attendees a tremendous 2-4-1 deal with their speakers.
How else do we want to improve the community?
We want to interact with you all more!
If you are on the Ministry of testing Slack channel (available at https://www.ministryoftesting.com/slack_invite), there is a UK-Midlands channel that was added late last year. If you want to speak with other testers in or near the Midlands, it is a way we can stay in touch, share other events, or anything else you feel appropriate.
We also have a new e-mail address to contact us on, firstname.lastname@example.org
For those of you who prefer LinkedIn, we have a page there, available at https://www.linkedin.com/company/30143108
We’re always looking for feedback on what we should keep on doing, start doing to improve things, and anything we should stop doing. So if you have any ideas, please reach out, through whichever medium works best for you.
Thank you for being a member of our ever growing community, and if you are able to join us on Wednesday 22nd January, we look forward to seeing you then.
